It was a red letter day in the history of India when the country got its freedom on August 15,1947. Mount Carmel school, zirakpur celebrated the 71st Independence day with unity and great patriotism. Rufus of class 7th gave a speech on Independence day followed by Lydia’s melodious patriotic song.

Inter-house Skit and Dance competitions were conducted . In the end the principal Mrs. Lily Banerjee delivered a short speech. She said that the freedom was very precious and it is necessary to preserve it. Sweets were distributed among the students.
